Something amiss…
August 8, 2007 by purplepolkadotzFive year anniversary and a trip to the mall
August 8, 2007 by purplepolkadotzThese are the flowers my husband gave me for our five year
anniversary (last Friday), aren’t they beautiful! We went out to eat and to a movie (License to Wed, pretty funny) a real treat for us these days.
Saturday we took the girls to the mall to play in the play area, but first we had to ride the “alligator” known to most folks as the escalator. There are these large stuffed dolls (as big as the girls themselves) up in one of the stores that they have to see everytime they go to the mall. Here is a pic of them with the Dora and Pooh dolls. Then we walked to the play area where they climbed on anything and everything and crawled through the bottle tunnel
In the bags they are carrying are the new ”ballerina” shoes they got,
Lexi got her rainbow
July 18, 2007 by purplepolkadotzThis past Sunday as we were driving home from church Lexi decided she wanted to see a rainbow, we told her there were none out right then and that since God is the one who gives them to us, she would need to ask Him for one. Right then she asked , “God, could you please give us a rainbow?” Now we told her that it may take a little while for Him to answer her prayer, but that He heard it and we would need to keep a watchful eye out for our rainbow. Tonight, as the storms were passing through the area, mostly north of us so the sun was out a little in our nieborhood, a rainbow appeared outside our front door. Lexi was so excited that God remembered her prayer and sent her a rainbow! What a great example to a three year old of answered prayers, and the need to wait on God’s timing. Unfortunately, the digital camera was full, so we were unable to get a picture, maybe next time. She has already started praying for the next rainbow.
The yard sale…
July 16, 2007 by purplepolkadotzWe had our yard sale Saturday, wow it was hot! The girls went to spend a few hours with Grandma, so they would not talk every potential customer out of buying their toys. The one thing that stands out to me, besides the heat, is the 9 year old girl who brought her piggy bank, and two or three of her friends and told them they could each get two things, she was paying for everything. She was so generous with her friends that when she found a headband that she wanted for herself, I just gave to her. After we were done, we set out a bunch of stuff and put “Free” on it, it was all gone by dark…
A birthday party!
July 9, 2007 by purplepolkadotzOur youngest turned two on Friday. As we were out of town that day, we had her party on Saturday. Grandma and Papaw were great and let us have the party in their backyard, there was a sprinkler, baby pool and of course the nice climbing, sliding, swingset structure they built this spring. About seven little ones ages three and under, all had a good time, I think. My mother did the (Dora) cake, the first one she has ever decorated, I think it came out pretty good!

Holiday fun

We went to Lake Barkley to watch the fireworks this week. Inlaws have a house there. We got there Wednesday afternoon in time to take a ride around the lake before dinner, then we went out to the end of the boat dock and watched the fireworks across the lake. The girls are never up that late and were so tired by the time the show was over, but they were hangin’ in there like troopers. Thursday we got up and were on the lake just after breakfast and went tubin’. Would have gone back out after nap, but the weather turned a little ugly. So we got up and went Friday just after breakfast again, had to head home just after lunch though for our youngest’s birthday party on Saturday.
After the girls had a nap, they wanted to have a picnic but the weather was turning rather ugly so they had an indoor picnic of strawberries, grapes and a few gummy lifesavers.
Here we go…
June 23, 2007 by purplepolkadotzI guess I will attemp to join the 21st century and give this blog-thing a try. Not sure that I have much to say that anyone would want to hear, but I will be posting pictures of my quilts and/or other projects, as I have a chance to finish them with a toddler and a couple of preschoolers underfoot…and who knows, maybe I’ll even find my inner blogger…hhmmm…
