VocabularySpellingCity.com Review

Wow!  My review for VocabularySpellingCity.com is way overdue!  My sincere apologies for that, seems life just got crazy busy around here for a while.

Anyway, I wanted to let you know how much I like this site.  I really like that you can print  handwriting practice worksheets with the spelling words you choose, all of the games use the spelling words you choose so they get a lot of exposure in different ways.  With the premium membership you can study definitions and my favorite is the crossword puzzle generator, using of course the words  and hints you choose.  That made it fun for my kids to give crosswords another try.

If you are looking for a new way to present/study/track spelling and vocabulary words, give it a try.  Go to VocabularySpellingCity.com to sign up

VocabularySpellingCity.com Review

I’ve been given a premium membership to VocabularySpellingCity.com for a candid, personal, online review.
VocabularySpellingCity.com helps students study word lists using 25 different learning activities such as MatchIt Sentences, HangMouse, and Word-O-Rama. Parents can create their own spelling lists, find published lists already available on the site, or use any of dozens of free teaching resources on topics such as analogies and compound words. Be sure to come back in three weeks to read about my experience.

There might be more free memberships available for bloggers. If you’re interested, find out how you can review VocabularySpellingCity.com.

Time4Learning review

Well, I think I am overdue for my review, sorry.
We had a free month to try the site and both my girls really enjoy it. They are both doing 1st grade work. Since we are homeschooling, and they are so close in age, it is easier to keep them on the same level even though they would be a grade apart if they were in public school. Of course they can still go at their own pace, too. The Time4Learning lessons were engaging and they look forward to that time each day. I was able to work with one individually while the other was doing her online lesson, which was really nice. I do hope to incorporate these lessons into our day for a long time to come.
I was compensated with a free month membership, however the opinions are completely my own.  You can click here to visit their website.

Wow…how time flies!

Been thinking it was time to revive this blog…but where to start?  I guess I will take my cue from Flylady, “You are not behind, just jump in where you are!”  We are so far from where we were the last time I posted…we now have 3 beautiful girls and have officially started homeschooling (last fall).  Lexi (now age 7) has lost a total of 7 teeth, most recently being today.  Maddie (now age 5) still has her first loose tooth, she cannot wait for her first visit from the “tooth fairy”!  And Sophie is every bit the average two year old right now…full of spunk and ready to take on the world one moment and, well…not so much the next…

I’ve been invited to try Time4Learning for one month in exchange for a candid review. Time4Learning can be used for homeschoolafterschool and summer skill sharpening. Be sure to come back and read about my experience.

Stay tuned for our next episode…I promise it won’t take as long next time…

Five year anniversary and a trip to the mall

img_0201-edited.jpg

These are the flowers my husband gave me for our five year
anniversary (last Friday), aren’t they beautiful!  We went out to eat and to a movie (License to Wed, pretty funny) a real treat for us these days.

Saturday we took the girls to the mall to play in the play area, but first we had to ride the “alligator” known to most folks as the escalator.  There are these large stuffed dolls (as big as the girls themselves) up in one of the stores that they have to see everytime they go to the mall.  Here is a pic of them with the Dora and Pooh dolls.  Then we walked to the play area where they climbed on anything and everything and crawled through the bottle tunnel

Lexi got her rainbow

This past Sunday as we were driving home from church Lexi decided she wanted to see a rainbow, we told her there were none out right then and that since God is the one who gives them to us, she would need to ask Him for one.  Right then she asked , “God, could you please give us a rainbow?” Now we told her that it may take a little while for Him to answer her prayer, but that He heard it and we would need to keep a watchful eye out for our rainbow.  Tonight, as the storms were passing through the area, mostly north of us so the sun was out a little in our nieborhood, a rainbow appeared outside our front door.  Lexi was so excited that God remembered her prayer and sent her a rainbow!  What a great example to a three year old of answered prayers, and the need to wait on God’s timing.  Unfortunately, the digital camera was full, so we were unable to get a picture, maybe next time.  She has already started praying for the next rainbow.
